Here's a Stanley #45 that should be nickel-plated...
Aluminum paint is no substitute for nickel-plating!
Black paint is also not a substitute for nickel-plating!
I hope none of these people ever get loose with a can of spray paint in my
shop!
The ad for this one read "...mint condition. A great addition to any
collection..."
Please don't paint the wood red (or any other color!).
At least he didn't paint the fence green....
Here's a custom green Stanley #607!
Note the black paint on everything but the blade...watch out for black skid
marks on the wood.
Here's a custom red Stanley #68!
And a matching red Stanley #113!
An orange router plane!
Here's two smoothers submitted by Clarke Green!
What a great knob!
Anyone need a bullnose #18? Thanks to Chris Dunn!
Here's another "custom" bullnose plane. It looks like an enterprising
woodworker took a broken #112 and made a #12-1/2, complete with rosewood sole!.
Maybe "gaudy", not "Ugly" would be a better description of this plane.
This is a rare type 1 #45. It should be jappanned, but it looks like
it was stripped, polished, buffed and shined!
Yet another sad-looking #45 that should be nickel-plated.
It seems that #46's also receive "the treatment". Watch out for black
skid marks when this one is being used!
More coming soon...please email me your ugliest planes
